In a city with a global reputation for glamour, affluence, palm-lined streets and movie star mystique, the newest ingénue in town on the luxury hotel scene, Montage Beverly Hills, is prepared for its close-up.
Designed by HKS Hill Glazier Studio, this premier eight-storey project features 201 guest rooms including 55 suites and 20 condominiums, and pays tribute to the Golden Age of Hollywood in a modern-day luxury setting.
Located in the heart of Beverly Hills between Canon and Beverly drives, just north of Wilshire Boulevard in the Golden Triangle district, Montage Beverly Hills’ design is inspired by the Spanish Colonial Revival roots and Mediterranean architecture prevalent throughout the city.
“The design intent is to evoke a timeless elegance, capturing the sophisticated residential character of southern California’s glamorous estates of the 1920s and 1930s,” said John C. Hill, Jr., AIA, principal of HKS Hill Glazier Studio. “The Spanish style is demonstrated by the use of arches, courtyards, plaster wall surfaces and terracotta tile roofs with authentic tile detailing, complementing the storied history, culture and tradition of Beverly Hills.”
Classically elegant furnishings conjure Spanish, Italian and Moroccan aesthetics in sun-drenched colors of gold, salmon, coral and cream. The hotel’s interior, designed by Darrell Schmitt Design Associates of Los Angeles, features marble and black walnut flooring and hand-painted ceilings.
